On 19 April, Redeia's technology platform, Elewit, took part in a conference promoted by the Spanish Engineering Institute (IIE), which seeks to strengthen collaboration links between the university environment and business.
Alongside 42 universities from 16 autonomous communities, it has set in record time a pioneering process of University-Business technological collaboration within the framework of the Forum for University-Business Technological Collaborations created by the University, Training and Business-IIE Committee.
During this meeting, representatives of Elewit and the IIE held a conference with representatives of 101 different Research Groups and Research-Innovation-Transfer Managers of the Universities.
This way, Elewit presented its nine Priority Technology Lines (PTLs) and key challenges related to Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Satellites and 5G, Robotics and Drones, Platforms and blockchain, Big Data, New technologies for transmission and energy storage, Immersive technologies and Cybersecurity.
At the conference, a direct dialogue and a fluid, high-level technological information exchange was established between the Research Groups of the Universities and the technology managers of Elewit. Contacts and communication channels were also established between both parties for future collaborations, through files detailing the experience, capacity and proposals for contributions in some of Elewit's key challenges.
Based on this information and on what was discussed at this conference, Elewit's technology managers will hold specific meetings with the corresponding Research Groups in order to advance at technological collaborations between the Universities and Elewit, whose lines fit in with their priorities.
About Elewit
Elewit, Redeia's technology platform, was born in 2019 with the purpose of offering solutions to new challenges in the electricity and telecommunications sectors with one goal: driving the green transition and connectivity to create a sustainable future.
To this end, Elewit focuses its activities on the following key challenges: improving the efficiency of grid development and asset management; optimising the operation of the electricity system: more efficient, reliable and flexible; enhancing connectivity in cities and rural areas through the opportunities which 5G can offer, satellites and the use of new digital technologies; optimising and automating OT and IT security; seizing the opportunities of new trends in the electricity sector; generating new services and business logic around current assets; increasing the sustainability of our activities; optimising the cross-functionalities of processes and increasing the safety and well-being of employees.
