The companies in Elewit’s portfolio continue to make progress in key areas for the evolution of energy infrastructure, from infrastructure digitalization and cybersecurity to advanced data management and the deployment of new technological capabilities for the energy sector.

The progress made during the quarter reflects some of the technological areas that Elewit considers strategic for the future of critical infrastructure: advanced data management, artificial intelligence applied to decision-making, cybersecurity and asset digitalization.

During the second quarter of 2026, Elewit’s portfolio companies continued to achieve significant milestones related to power grid digitalization, increased grid capacity, and the strengthening of the innovation ecosystem, contributing to the key challenges of the energy transition.

Founded in 2019 by Golam Sadeghnia, Oktogrid is built to deliver key insights on an often-overlooked asset: the power transformer. The innovation is recording acoustic signatures of power transformers, and the solution is delivering power transformer intelligence.

The limited availability of real images of rare anomalies represents one of the main challenges in developing artificial intelligence models for the inspection of electrical infrastructures.

When designing the transmission grid, reinforcing the resilience of the grid's infrastructure against extreme weather events or exceptional situations that can cause cascading tower collapses is a fundamental criterion to ensure asset integrity. Overhead lines themselves are structured by incorporating reinforced anchor towers distributed along the route, which also play a key role as anti-cascade towers.

Elewit, Redeia’s technology platform, and TECNALIA, Spain’s largest private centre for applied research and technological development, have conducted a second QKD (Quantum Key Distribution) proof of concept. The trial successfully established an optical fibre communication link spanning approximately 50 kilometres in an industrial environment, connecting two electrical sub-stations located between the municipalities of Itsaso (Gipuzkoa) and Vitoria-Gasteiz (Álava).

During the first quarter of 2026, the startups backed by Elewit continued strengthening their growth and their capacity to impact in key areas such as energy, industrial reliability, advanced connectivity, and smart infrastructure. Through strategic partnerships, international recognition, and technological advances, the portfolio has continued positioning itself as a driving force of applied innovation.
