The programme will include discussions on the vision for Spain’s energy model, the evolution of European venture capital, and the application of AI in power grids.
Elewit, Redeia’s technology platform, will host the second edition of its DEMO Day on 9 October at its Tres Cantos headquarters (Madrid). The event will bring together professionals from startups, the investment community, commercial partners, and other key players from the electricity and telecommunications sectors.
The day will feature introductions from Stellar, Akselos, and Alchemy, three new startups collaborating with Elewit; Hesstec and Nearby Computing, two scale-ups from the company’s corporate venture capital portfolio; and Ocean Ecostructures and Denexus, two companies selected in the fifth Venture Client programme.
These entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their projects, progress, and future actions to potential investors and strategic partners in a pitch format designed to foster collaboration between startups and industry leaders.
In addition, the programme includes discussions reflecting on Spain’s sustainable energy model with Carlos Puente, Redeia’s Corporate Development Director. It will also include sessions on the future outlook of the European venture capital sector, led by David González, the European Investment Fund (EIF) representative in Spain and Portugal.
To round out the event, representatives from startups such as Oktogrid, Splight, Eneryield, and Unusuals will participate in a panel discussion about the projects and use cases in which artificial intelligence is being tested for integration into the management and operation of the power grid. The welcome and closing remarks will be delivered by Silvia Bruno, Redeia’s Chief Innovation & Technology Officer and Elewit’s Director, along with Roberto García, Redeia’s CEO.
The primary goal of this event is to create a networking space where startups in Elewit’s ecosystem can showcase their innovations to financial and industrial players who could either participate in their funding rounds or become clients. This initiative seeks to provide these entrepreneurs with more opportunities to scale up their businesses and strengthen their market position.
This open innovation activity complements other company initiatives, such as its Venture Client programme, which fosters collaboration with startups, as well as the Despega programme, which allows Redeia employees to develop their own business ideas. With these measures, Elewit aims to drive innovative technological solutions that support the ecological transition and universal connectivity, its main goals as a company.
