Elewit, alongside Red Eléctrica – Spain’s TSO in charge of the electricity transport and operation - has launched a new Data Challenge to find partners who can provide Red Eléctrica with the best forecasting service for renewable energy generation.

How does our Data Challenge work?

Participating companies will be allowed to access a Dataset which includes a time series of wind, photovoltaic and solar thermal energy production, as well as the geographical area in which each time series falls. Participating companies will then begin an offline validation process to build their best proposal based on the two years of historical data provided by Red Eléctrica.

Participant’s proposals must provide generation forecasts for at least one renewable technology (wind, photovoltaic and solar thermal) from 1 to 48 hours for the three months following the time series shared with them.

Elewit will publish the winning proposals of the Data Challenge on its website and social media. In addition, webinars or other actions may be held to provide external visibility of the companies and their capabilities to other relevant ecosystem actors and potential customers, such as TSOs, DSOs and other relevant members of the energy sector.

The registration period for companies interested in participating will be open until 14 July 2023.

The proposal preparation period will run from 15 July to 18 August 2023.
