Elewit celebrates five years of driving the energy transition and advocating for universal and inclusive connectivity. As a catalyst for innovation and Redeia's technology platform, Elewit's professionals work daily not only on developing new technological solutions to meet the challenges of the electricity and telecommunications sectors, but also on technology monitoring, leading innovation, and guiding the corporation in adopting cutting-edge technologies. Moreover, all of the company’s initiatives are aligned with Redeia's 2021-2025 Strategic Plan.
In these five years, Elewit has created its own innovation ecosystem, made up of 107 partners and collaborators. They have also successfully implemented 37 technological solutions, revolutionising the future of the energy and telecommunications sectors. Additionally, since 2019, it has invested in 11 startups and investment funds through the company’s Corporate Venture Capital investment vehicle.
Through thisinvestment vehicle, Elewit focuses on disruptive solutions with the potential to make an impact in the energy and telecommunications sectors. More specifically, Elewit invests in technology-based startups and funds that align with Redeia's strategic goals. To this end, over the past five years, Elewit has analysed over 3,000 startups and invested in Zeleros, Counter Craft, Nearby Computing, HESStec, Aerolaser System, Splight, Okto Grid, and Unusuals, as well as committing an investment to three deep-tech venture capital funds.
Another key pillar of the company is the development of technological innovation projects to solve the challenges faced by Redeia and its subsidiaries. In this context, Elewit has developed 54 pilots with startups over the past five years through the venture client program. During this period5 Venture Client programmes were launched with the goal of identifying and validating new solutions that could improve Redeia's processes and exploring potential use cases with startups through targeted proof-of-concept trials.
On the other hand Elewit's LAB, which was created with the goal of establishing a laboratory and prototyping space to turn innovative ideas into products that add value to Redeia and the market, has become one of the company's pioneering initiatives. This initiative has proven to be a resounding success, as several of these ideas have evolved into products that are already being commercialised in collaboration with business partners, such as the ZEPAS, DALIA, and PDEye solutions.
Finally, it is worth noting that Elewit acts as a facilitator and connector for Redeia's main companies and business units. It plays a key role in intrapreneurship through initiatives like the Despega programme. Over its three editions, this initiative has become one of the most powerful drivers of cultural transformation, enabling the group's professionals to become entrepreneurs within the company by providing the necessary support to launch their ideas into the market and advance in their careers.
One success story is the SafeDelimit project. In its latest edition, held on June 27,four proposals will have six months to develop a Minimum Viable Product, while two others are being evaluated for continued development through other channels.
